What's happening this term

TERM 2

Nursery

Our theme is Celebrations.

We will be learning about different celebrations that we celebrate with our families such as Halloween, Bonfire night, Birthdays and Christmas and thinking about celebrations happening around the world.  If you have any photos of traditions or celebrations that your family share, please send them in so we can use these as talking points for the children on the talking chair.  We wil be creating various crafts alongside each celebration to display in our rooms. We will be playing small group games to promote taking turns and sharing with the children.  We will aslo be continuing to support the children with their cutting skills and using scissors correctly.  Other Nursery events will be happening throughout this term such as Mince Pies and Singing, Christmas Entertainer and Christmas Party so please look out for the times and dates for these on the newletter, the website and on our app.

Our hotspot this term is 'I can share and take turns whilst playing with my friends'.

Our British Value this term is 'We share and take turns'

Pre-School

We will start with a few weeks of 'All about me' getting to know our children.  Children will be painting their portraits for display and will talk about their likes and dislikes in circle time as well as talking about their families.  We will introduce the colour monster to help understand their feelinmgs and make a group display to reference throughout the year.  As Autumn is almost upon us we will continue the term looking at the changing season and all the natural objects we can find. Please feel free to bring in any conkers, leaves pine cones, or pumpkins to display on our Autumn table and talk about at circle times.  In week 6, to celebrate the Mop fair, we will have our own Pre-school Mop Fair, looking at the fair past and present. If you have any photos please bring them in.
