What's happening this term

 

TERM 2

Nursery

Our theme is Celebrations.

We will be learning about different celebrations that we celebrate with our families such as Halloween, Bonfire night, Birthdays and Christmas and thinking about celebrations happening around the world.  If you have any photos of traditions or celebrations that your family share, please send them in so we can use these as talking points for the children on the talking chair.  We wil be creating various crafts alongside each celebration to display in our rooms. We will be playing small group games to promote taking turns and sharing with the children.  We will aslo be continuing to support the children with their cutting skills and using scissors correctly.  Other Nursery events will be happening throughout this term such as Mince Pies and Singing, Christmas Entertainer and Christmas Party so please look out for the times and dates for these on the newletter, the website and on our app.

Pre-School

Our Theme is Celebrations.

The children have talked about Bonfire Night and staying safe around fireworks.  We are busy making poppy pictures and a poppy wreath for our Remembrance Day service on the school playground on Tuesday 11th November.  If any of our families have a connection to the armed forces we would appreciate any pictures or items connected with this to talk to the children about.  The children will learn all about Diwali and Thanksgiving. We are encouraging children to think about some of their own family celebrations, so if you have any special events that you celebrate or have something coming up please talk to us about it so that we can celebrate our diverse families in the setting.  If you have any photos to share please send them in.   

We will be learning the Christmas story and practicing our performance in December ready to show parents at the end of term.
